Zusammenfassung: | A real-world context can provide an interesting and engaging framework for an upper-division instrumental analysis laboratory experiment. A lab based on the authentication of art with Raman and fluorescence spectroscopy was developed. In this adapted problem-based learning (PBL) approach, students make real-time decisions about experimental conditions and write their final report in the form of a journal article. Laboratory implementation demonstrated that the majority of students met the desired learning outcomes. |
