Increased vesicular monoamine transporter binding during early abstinence from chronic methamphetamine abuse: Preliminary PET / (+)[ 11C]DTBZ findings
Efforts to document striatal dopamine neuron damage in living brain of MA users have focused on the binding of (+)[11C]DTBZ (dihydrotetrabenazine), a vesicular monoamine transporter (VMAT2) PET radioligand, as a stable dopamine neuron biomarker.
