Zusammenfassung: | This paper provides information about the state of mass passenger transport in Accra, the capital of Ghana. It clearly outlines the delays that passengers face from points of origin to their eventual destinations. The article further argues that the long waiting period at terminals and stopping points and the long travel duration, among other factors, take their toll on workers who get to their places of employment quite fatigued rendering them less productive at their workplaces. This has negative effect on the economy. The passenger fatigue is evidenced by the outcome of survey of passengers who use public transport on their way to work at various locations within the city of Accra. The paper therefore recommends measures which should be taken to improve public passenger transport in Accra, which could lead to improvement in the economic development of Accra and Ghana in general.
