Esophageal Remodeling Develops as a Consequence of Tissue Specific Interleukin (IL)-5 Induced Eosinophilia

Results An impressive accumulation of collagen in the epithelial mucosa and lamina propria, and basal layer thickening was observed in the esophageal biopsies from EE patients (P < 0.001) compared to normal individuals as well as in mice with experimental EE (P < 0.001).
