Ozone enhances markers of innate immunity and antigen presentation on airway monocytes in healthy individuals

The importance of antigen presentation is increasingly recognized not only in development of allergic responses but also in maintaining TH2 inflammation in the airways.7 We have reported that inhalation challenge with ambient air particles3 or endotoxin2 stimulates surface expression of molecules im...

Zusammenfassung:The importance of antigen presentation is increasingly recognized not only in development of allergic responses but also in maintaining TH2 inflammation in the airways.7 We have reported that inhalation challenge with ambient air particles3 or endotoxin2 stimulates surface expression of molecules important for innate immunity (CD11b, and membrane-bound [m]CD14) and antigen presentation (CD80, CD86 and HLA-DR) on airway monocytic cells.
