Zusammenfassung:The drug is also a useful adjunct to local anesthetic agents to minimize bleeding during the repair of minor lacerations, but because of its potent vasoconstrictive properties, it is contraindicated for injection into end-artery structures, such as digits. Because the dose of epinephrine administered by an autoinjector is 5 to 10 times greater than that used in a typical laceration repair, there is risk of harmful ischemia with inadvertent administration into these areas.
