Schriftliche Folklore im 17. Jahrhundert

The study examines literary work, genre system, rhetorical strategies, and narrative means of a productive author of moral and meditational literature in the 17th century who had been read widely all over Europe. On the basis of a formal and contentual typology of the exemplum material and of its use, the oeuvre should be placed on the contact line between literature and folklore, written and oral culture. The study is completed by a bibliography of the first editions of the works. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
