Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Psychiatry in Education by V. V. Anderson (see record 1933-02596-000). This book gives a description and discussion of the educational program in the Anderson School, formerly called The Spruces, at Staatsburgon-Hudson, New York. According to the author, this book was written for regular school personnel. It may therefore be proper to expect that the author as a good psychiatrist will find the basis for good rapport with these prospective readers. Throughout the general discussion, the assumption is made that psychiatry in industry may be very well accepted as a pattern for education. The author makes the assumption that is popular for the moment that the introverted child should become extraverted. The suggestion about the possible destiny of these contemplative children also raises the question as to what becomes of those who do not become abnormal. For the psychiatrist who is only slightly acquainted with education, this book will help to bridge the gap from psychiatry to education by way of common concepts and approaches.
