Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Encyclopedia of Social Work: Sixteenth Issue edited by Robert Morris (1971). For those who have been involved, directly or indirectly, in social work or a related field over the past three or four decades, the new Encyclopedia of Social Work must provide remarkable evidence of the growth and development of the profession. The new arrangement has afforded opportunity to expand many topics and also to introduce several new ones. The new context articles serve as a backdrop against which to explore and examine social work activities. The Encyclopedia is a valuable and useful resource not only for social workers and social agencies, but also for those in related disciplines and for librarians, guidance counselors, and others whose task is to help students make satisfactory career choices. It would have been better titled Encyclopedia of Social Work and Social Welfare to more adequately reflect its broadened scope. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2019 APA, all rights reserved) |
