Zusammenfassung:When some 200 drug addicts, accompanied by community representatives, staged a walk-in at Lincoln Hospital, a confrontation with the Establishment was forced. Based on retrospective accounts from staff, community, addicts, and administrators, this paper examines the factors leading to confrontation, and assesses the results. The value of this technique in achieving health care delivery is considered.
