Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, The Doctor and the Difficult Child by William Moodie (see record 1941-01562-000). The Director of the London Child Guidance Clinic addresses this book to pediatricians, general practitioners and laymen. Such an audience will learn much from it and will have little resistance to accepting the author’s simple practical viewpoint. The child psychiatrist, however, will find much to criticize. More attention has been paid in this review to the book’s faults than to its virtues since it is the belief of the reviewer that the field of child psychiatry will advance only when more exact concepts can be substituted for vague phraseology and intuitive thinking.
