Aldehyde oximes were converted to furoxans in almost quantitative yields via dimerization of corresponding nitrile oxides upon oxidation. When the oxidation was carried out in the presence of alkene and alkyne dipolarophiles, isoxazolines or isoxazoles were obtained in good yields. |
