Zusammenfassung:An Al-complex with 3,5-di-t-butylsalicylate ions as ligands (commercial name, E-88 from Orient Chemical Industries, LTD) is a charge-control agent (CCA) used for toners in electrophotography. The title compound is found to crystallize in a monoclinic system, as characterized by the following crystallographic parameters: Cc, a = 19.3525(4), b = 35.4460(4), c = 27.9608(7)Å, β = 110.1240(10)°, Z = 4, V = 18009.3(6)Å3. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least squares on F2 to final values of R1 = 0.1589 and wR2 = 0.4128.
