An Onium Salt-catalyzed Direct Polycondensation of Lactic Acid

Poly(L-lactic acid) of Mw≈160000 (PDI = 1.6) was produced by direct polycondensation of water-containing lactic acid using triphenylphosphonium triflate as a catalyst.
