Difference in Catalytic Combustion of Propane and Propene on Pt/Al2O3 Catalyst

Propene combustion on Pt/Al2O3 catalysts was enhanced when partial pressure of oxygen in a feed increased, while propane combustion was found to be depressed when partial pressure of oxygen was higher than the stoichiometric pressure.
