Zusammenfassung:The reaction of (N-aryl-N-hydroxy)acylacetamides 11 with p-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride in the presence of 2 eq of triethylamine gave 5-alkyl-3-aryl-4-oxazolin-2-ones 10. In the same manner, 5-alkyl-3-aryl-4-halogeno-4-oxazolin-2-ones 14 were synthesized from the corresponding N-aryl-N-hydroxy-α-halogeno-acylacetamides 12, which were prepared by chlorination or bromination of (N-aryl-N-hydroxy)acylacetamides 11.
