Synthesis and Some Reactions of 6-Bromooxindole

An efficient synthesis of 4-and 6-bromooxindoles, previously unknown compounds, from 6-and 4-amino-2-nitrotoluenes and the transformation of 6-bromooxindole to 3-acylated derivatives are described.
