Zusammenfassung:Methyl 2, 3-(15), 2, 4-(11) and 3, 4-di-O-methyl-α-D-fucopyranosides (8) were prepared from methyl α-D-fucopyranoside via methyl 3, 4-O-isopropylidene-α-D-fucopyranoside. These substances were required in connection with methylation analysis of saponins containing D-fucose residues. Compounds 8 and 11 had not previously been synthesized at the outset of the present work.
