Zusammenfassung:A novel method for the synthesis of 3-substituted 4-hydroxy-1-methyl- and 1-phenyl-2-quinolones is presented. The compounds are produced in a one-step reaction in very good yields (51–76%). The major advantage of the methodology is the short time for the synthesis in contrast to previous methodologies requiring several steps and harsh conditions for the synthesis of quinolone derivatives.
