Zusammenfassung: | The color reaction of secondary amine with carbon disulfide and copper(II) has been applied to the colonmetric determination of methoxyphenamine hydrochloride in mixed pharmaceutical preparations. Methoxyphenamine hydrochloride was treated with carbon disulfide in an ammoniacal solution to form dithiocarbamic acid which reacted with copper(II) to form a yellow complex. The absorbance measured at 438 mμ against the reagent blank obeyed Beer's law in the concentration range of 10100 μg/ml of methoxyphenamine hydrochloride. In this colorimetric determination, most primary and tertiary amines do not interfere. Therefore the present method is of great advantage for determina tion of methoxyphenamine in pharmaceutical preparations which contain primary and tertiary amines. |
