Zusammenfassung:An atomic absorption spectrometric system was examined to clarify manganese evaporation behavior from molten steel. The system was based on direct atomic absorption measurement of the manganese vapor evaporated from the molten steel at 1600±10°C. The results showed that the absorbance of manganese depended on the manganese concentration in the molten steel. The iron absorbance was used effectively to correct the amounts of evaporated vapor. The absorbance ratio of manganese to iron was in proportion to the manganese concentration.
