Zusammenfassung:A new technique demonstrating the presence of ganglioside GM1 in neurons, neurite bundles and oligodendrocytes using avidin-biotin complex systems in double staining techniques is reported. The method was applied to cultured brain cells. The ganglioside GM1 may be present in the growth cones of outgrowing neurites in these living cell cultures.
