ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of Glutamic Acid and Highly Functionalized Pyrrolidine Derivatives by Utilizing Tunable Calcium Catalysts for Chemoselective Asymmetric 1,4-Addition and [3 + 2] Cycloaddition Reactions

The direction of calcium‐catalyzed reaction of Schiff bases with acrylic acid esters and amides depends on the structure of starting compounds leading to either glutamic acid derivatives or substituted pyrrolidines.
