Use of free-falling stream of melt for making nanocrystalline magnetically hard Fe – Nd – B materials
A method for hardening from liquid state is developed and used to design and create a commercial prototype facility for supercooling melts of Fe – Nd – B alloys to produce rapidly hardened flakes. Optimum modes for hardening of alloy Fe – 28.5% Nd – 1.4% B – 1% Zr in this facility are developed and...

Zusammenfassung: | A method for hardening from liquid state is developed and used to design and create a commercial prototype facility for supercooling melts of Fe – Nd – B alloys to produce rapidly hardened flakes. Optimum modes for hardening of alloy Fe – 28.5% Nd – 1.4% B – 1% Zr in this facility are developed and rapidly hardened flakes with high magnetic properties are obtained. The phase composition and the structure of the alloy are studied. |
