ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of 2-Chloro-3-oxoesters by Reaction of the Dianion of Ethyl 2-Chloroacetoacetate with Electrophiles

Title compounds [(III), (V), and (VII)] as well as 2‐alkylidenetetrahydrofuran (IX) are synthesized by regioselective reaction of the dianion of ester (I) with halides [(II), (IV), or (VIII)] or aldehydes (VI), respectively.
