ChemInform Abstract: Asymmetric Synthesis and anti-Protozoal Activity of the 8,4′-Oxyneolignans Virolin, Surinamensin and Analogues

Enantioselective syntheses of the two natural 8,4‐oxyneolignans, virolin (VIIIb) and surinamensin (VIIIc), along with a range of analogues using chiral aldehyde (II) as key intermediate are described.
