Zusammenfassung:A simple and fast preparative method of 2‐styrylbenzoxazoles by oxidative intramolecular cyclization of styrylphenolic Schiff bases with thianthrene cation (Th+.ClO4−) is described. The oxidative cyclization of Schiff bases in the presence of 2,6‐di‐tert‐butyl‐4‐methylpyridine (DTBMP) gives 2‐styrylbenzoxazole derivatives in better yields than those in the absence of DTBMP.
