Zusammenfassung: | The purpose of this study was to explore whether the relationship between learning motivation and innovative behavior is explained via the mediating role of creative self-efficacy. Using survey data from 179 students in five classes who took the creative courses from three universities in Taiwan, the data was tested by means of hierarchical regression analyses: (a) the relationship between learning motivation and innovative behavior; (b) whether creative self efficacy mediates this relationship; and (c) the relationship between creative self-efficacy and learning motivation. Results showed that learning motivation is positively related to innovative behavior and that creative self-efficacy mediates this relationship. Addressing a neglected area, the study provides evidence to show that teachers who enhance creative self-efficacy are likely to maximize students' scope for engaging in innovative behaviors.
