ChemInform Abstract: Nitroalkenes as Carbonyl Surrogates in Arylmethyl-homoallylic Alcohol Forming One-Pot Allylation Reactions in Water

The reaction is proposed to proceed via initial generation of a nitrostyrene radical anion by SET from tin followed by bisprotonation leading to a nitronic acid.
