Zusammenfassung:In this study, we aim to investigate the effects of exports and imports on economic growth during the quarter period of (1989:2-2011:4) by using nonlinear econometric technique. We have found that exports and imports effect economic growth positively during the contraction and expansion periods of economy. With the helps of this study, it is proved that in Turkish economy within the study period, export-oriented industrialization strategy and endogenous economic growth theory's views on the relationship between imports and economic growth is valid.
