LA MÚSICA EN LAS FESTIVIDADES DEL PALACIO REAL DE VALENCIA EN EL SIGLO XVIII

En el artículo se describe la documentación referida a las festividades celebradas en el Palacio Real de Valencia desde 1707 hasta 1773, conservada en el Archivo del Reino de Valencia. Su análisis permite reconstruir el ceremonial de las celebraciones e identificar a la Capilla de la parroquia de San Martín como la institución musical que intervino en ellas durante el período considerado. Sólo entre 1760 y 1776 fue ésta reemplazada por la Capilla de la Catedral: la alternancia entre las dos capillas en el marco oficial del Real es un testimonio del desarrollo musical y organizativo de las capillas parroquiales de Valencia frente a la de mayor antigüedad y prestigio. This article describes the accountant documentation that refers to the festivities celebrated in the Royal Palace of Valencia from 1707 to 1773 and is preserved in the Archivo del Reino de Valencia. Its analysis permits the reconstruction of the celebrations' ceremonies and the identification of the Parish Chapel of San Martín as the musical institution which participated on these occasions during the period considered. It is only between 1760 and 1776 that this institution is substituted by the Chapel of the Cathedral: the alternation of these two chapels within the offical framework of Royal Palace is witness to the musical and organizational development of the parish chapels in Valencia in contrasts to that of greater antiquity and prestige.
