Zusammenfassung: | A polyphenol‐rich extract of a bird‐resistant sorghum grain can induce protein in the microsomal fraction (cytochrome P‐450) of rat liver to the same extent as a standard induction technique, which uses an intraperitoneal injection of β‐naphthoflavone along with sodium phenobarbital in the drinking water. This microsomal protein can convert the promutagen 2‐aminofluorene to the N‐hydroxylated mutagenic derivative, as measured by an Ames test, though a little less efficiently than that induced by the standard technique. |
