Zusammenfassung:Zionist Churches, especially those emphasising healing, exhibit a strikingly acquiescent attitude towards South African State politicies. This article examines the evidence as well as the explanations that have been put forward by social scientists and theologians. The particular focus of the article, however, is on medical systems as mechanisms of social control, a perspective that in this context has tended to be overlooked.
