Zusammenfassung: | Sintering of an 80% Ag‐20% Pd powder in the absence of a liquid phase below 750°C proceeds according to a grain‐boundary diffusion model. The same powder was sintered with a glass which exhibited incomplete wetting. By comparing sintering rates, the occurrence of solution‐precipitation sintering in the glass‐bearing system was established. The data for the two systems are best compared by using expressions which allow fired size, L, to be plotted vs time to the nth power. |
