Zusammenfassung: | The effects of hot‐pressing variables on a chemical reaction within a two‐phase system were studied. The reaction between alumina and sodium disilicate glass to form nephelite (Na2O·‐Al2O3·2SiO2) was investigated using X‐ray diffraction, electron microprobe, and petrographic techniques. The nephelite nucleated at the surface of the alumina and grew into the glass matrix. |
