Zusammenfassung: | A study has been made on the preparation of sulphur single crystals from carbon disulphide saturated solution by two methods. (i) Slow cooling of a hot (42°C) saturated solution. This method provided high quality crystals with well-developed (111) faces. The faces exhibited growhh hillocks and spirals indicating the existence of screw dislocations during crystal growth. (ii) Slow evaporation (at room temperature) of a saturated solution. In this method tabular crystals with (111) faces were grown having optically flat growth layers. |
