Some Implications of Political Systems Theory for Alternative Demand Processing Mechanisms for Public School Systems

The traditional structure of American public school systems is inadequate to process the powerful diverse demands typical of modern urban societies. This paper utilizes Easton's political systems framework to analyze existing structural inadequacies and to support a number of alternative mechanisms for coping more effectively with politically energetic and ideologically divergent educational demands.
