Zusammenfassung:This paper records and analyzes animal bones and shells from an archaeological site in southern Louisiana. It describes the methods used in studying the collection and points out certain implications of the animal remains for prehistoric Louisiana settlement patterns. A few plant remains were recovered, and their identifications and possible significance are also presented. A final section compares the newly reported finds with those from other sites in the Central and Lower Mississippi Valley and offers some generalizations about Indian subsistence in this area.
