The stimulus suffix effect with reversed speech

If the redundant suffix “zero” is added to the end of immediate memory stimuli, there is a selective performance decrement in ordered recall which is most apparent in the terminal serial positions. Zusammenfassung:If the redundant suffix “zero” is added to the end of immediate memory stimuli, there is a selective performance decrement in ordered recall which is most apparent in the terminal serial positions. The present study shows that this decrement is independent of whether the suffix is presented in normal or reversed speech. This finding supports the view that the effect of a redundant suffix depends on a precategorical acoustic storage system.
