Presidential elections, with all of their maze of factors, provide unparalleled opportunities for developing and testing techniques. After the Presidential elections of 1936 and of 1940, Daniel Katz published his interpretation of how well the polls had done. This article is his critique for 1944. Dr. Katz is Chairman of the Department of Psychology at Brooklyn College.
