Zusammenfassung:The level of trust that the general public has in competing sources of technical information is an important concern for policymakers and those involved in information dissemination programs. Survey data collected for five studies over a 12-year period indicate consistency in trust levels for sources of technical information. Specific environmental issues do not appear to change how the public perceives information providers. Thus, highly regarded providers become even more important in fulfilling the information needs of the general public.
