Zusammenfassung: | Defining a collectivist society as one in which the people meet their needs predominantly through large organized groups, both public and private, the author examines the collectivist tendencies of our time. He notes that, while big government and big business have greatly raised our standard of living and increased our economic security, they have also diminished our individual freedom. He therefore urges eternal vigilance lest we go too far in bartering our individual freedom for the lesser goals of collectivism. |
