Zusammenfassung: | Despite the rapid rate of acculturation of Hawaii's ethnic groups, personality differences still persist at the third-generation level. The present study focused on the interpersonal needs of Japanese-American and Caucasian-American college students in Hawaii. Schutz' FIRO-B was administered to 238 Ss, and the findings analyzed for both ethnic and sex differences. Ethnic differences were observed on the wanted control and expressed inclusion scales; sex differences were found on the expressed inclusion and expressed affection scales. Conceptualizations were presented to understand these differences. |
