But even more serious, suggests Mr. Yeager, is the perhaps less obvious erosion of personal liberty which is necessitated by the growing and increasingly concentrated populations made possible by technology. It has been proved that human beings can adjust to almost any social situation, the author declares, but he concludes that we had best consider in advance just what we will be adapted to. |
