ChemInform Abstract: Oxidative Prins-Pinacol Tandem Process Mediated by a Hypervalent Iodine Reagent: Scope, Limitations, and Applications

Upon treatment with hypervalent iodine reagents, a number of phenol derivatives bearing pentenyl or pentynyl units undergoes cyclization to afford spirocyclic compounds, in some cases with high stereoselectivity.
