VODNI POTENCIJALI NACIONALNOG PARKA BIOGRADSKA GORA

The global scenario of the future water deficit could be completely applied to the Montenegro territory. Development of the national economy, primarily tourism, agriculture and industry depend on the available water supply of the good quality. The reason is not only the increase of the water demand but also the rapid pollution of surface and underground waters. Ai the present and even more in the future, the only source of fresh and clean water are the forest regions due to their position and area but also because of their precious hydrological role. This relatively new quality of forest regions is a challenge for forestry and foresters who must accept the leading role in water supply. The first task for the foresters is to evaluate the water yields of the forest ecosystems in Montenegro. As an example, National Park Biogradska gora is chosen and calculation of its available water yield is presented in this paper.
