Zusammenfassung: | Kirkeby presents a concept by which the inner voice of the individual can be a starting point for phenomenological analysis of musical works. Key to this concept is the principle of voicing and how voicing may be interpreted as multi-part even in the case of a solo instrument, and how this voicing relates to philosophical and psychological "themes" that then become the ground for musical understanding. This framework is then turned to an interpretation of Bach's Chaconne in d-minor for Solo Violin in an in-depth exposure of how the structural relationship between these themes is carried out in the piece. |
