Zusammenfassung: | The effect of loading a choke‐circuit on a dual‐band printed inverted‐F antenna is investigated. The choke‐circuit is an LC‐resonator where the inductance is realized by cutting a slot on the ground plane and the capacitance is realized by adding a strip above the ground plane. The total length of the printed circuit board is determined to maximize the return‐loss bandwidth of the lower‐band part of the antenna. By adding the choke‐circuit, the bore‐sight gain within a limited band on the higher‐band part can be increased. The frequency at which there is a maximum bore‐sight gain at the higher‐band part is tunable by the choke‐circuit. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
