Zusammenfassung:This article presents an analysis of 1D periodic slotted ground structure on the microstrip ground plane. A dumbbell‐shaped ground slot (DSGS) has been utilized as a unit cell of the periodic ground structure. The number of the slots is set to N = 7. The expressions for propagation and attenuation constants are derived from the unit cell of the DSGS. These expressions allow determining the passband and stopband of the proposed DSGS periodic structure. The calculated results are compared to simulated and measured results for the analysis validity. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
