'Qui dove il piè fermai': una 'Serenata' tra modularità formale e manifesto poetico

The aim of this study is to enlighten a particular tipology of serenata used by Carlo Caproli del Violino, through three approaches: first, a textual one , based on the meaning of verses; second, the musical one, through comparisons with other 'seremate' of the same period to define a similar formal structure; and third, theoretical and bibliographical, as all European commentators of the 17th and 18th centuries wrote about serenatas like magnificent, allegorical and eulogistic spectacles.
